about
I wrote this during our Covid 19 Lockdown. I had started writing the lyrics pre Covid - they started off as being about loneliness. They ended up being about loneliness and hope. I recorded it in my kitchen and my youngest son, Seán sang some BVs. If anyone would like to buy this, all proceeds will go to the charity, 'Alone'.
lyrics
Waiting at the curtains,
For the children,
Emerging like flowers in the Springtime,
For the shrieking,
For the footsteps running,
For the kicking the ball,
For the bouncing the ball,
For the laughter
Warming up the water,
Through my fingers,
As the barely there spiders retreat,
Like ballerinas,
Into hollows,
Into barely there places,
Into barely there spaces
(Cut grass) Waiting by the curtains
(Through the window) For the children emerging
(Daffodils) Like flowers in the Springtime
(Marigolds) For the shrieking, for the footsteps running,
(Forget-me-nots) For the kicking the ball
(Magnolia) For the bouncing the ball
(Promises) For the laughter

This is absolute genius. Each song has its own unique mood, but what they all have in common is that they take their time, allowing the lush, patient, dazzlingly imaginative arrangements to gradually blossom. There are a dizzying variety of instrumental textures, pleasure and wonderment around every turn. I'm getting hints of Will Oldham circa "Arise Therefore," though that album is much more spare. Proof that "experimental" doesn't necessarily mean noisy. Joe Madden

Her voice is a beautiful instrument, listen you'll see what I'm taking about Great beats, melodies. Not just a great Rap/ Hip Hop album, great album period. BetoR
